I was able to travel around the Philippines but never outside of it. The first country that came in my mind to visit was Singapore. It's because my sister worked there and I have a friend that lives there. My passport will expire on 2013 and I told myself that I have to use it before it expires.
Most of my friends have already gone to Singapore. So I set aside my Singapore dream to give way for my friends who wants to go to Macau. I'm so excited when we booked our ticket last November 2011 for Macau. I read and read a lot of blogs and threads just to make an itinerary. I decided to take side trips to Hong Kong for its just an hour ferry drive from Macau.
After 4 months of patiently waiting, came the day that we waited for. March 23, 2012, we boarded at exactly 7:30pm at Flight 5J-362 Cebu Pacific bounded to Macau. We arrived there 10 minutes earlier of our arrival time. Cool air welcomes us as we got off the plane. Macau Immigration is authoritative and veracious. After getting tourist maps, we proceeded to the Airport money changer to change our money to Macau Pataca (MOP). We only changed P500.00 for our taxi fare going to the hotel. We didn't bother to look for the shuttle buses that takes you free rides from one hotel to another because its already late (9:30pm) and we're not that familiar with the area.
We traveled approximately 20 minutes from airport to hotel. Awesome views facinated us as we travel along. We paid MOP 90.00 for the cab fare and that was expensive because the cab driver added MOP20.00 for our baggages. By the way, 1 MOP is equal to P5.50. We arrived at Hotel Man Va, a 3-star hotel we reserved online. It is located at No. 30 Rua de Caldeira.

The old man in the reception area knew how to speak a little English. We called him "manong", a respectful way of addressing an older man. He'd never smiled but he never snob us. After a few minutes we headed to our hotel room at the 4th floor. We occupied 2 rooms, 2 person each, for they didn't have bigger rooms. The rooms was decent enough for us to rest. Excited for what Macau has to offer, we forgot to take pictures of our rooms.
We fixed our things and headed downstairs just to look around the area since its already late. We walked along the roadside and tried some street foods. We stayed for 30 minutes outside just to feel the cold air. We decided to go back to the hotel for we have a long long day ahead.
